Trelagliptin
Used For
Diabetes
How it works
It is a medication belonging to the class of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It is primarily used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to help control blood sugar levels. Trelagliptin works by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which in turn increases the levels of incretin hormones. These hormones stimulate the pancreas to release insulin and inhibit the liver from producing glucose, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. Each tablet typically contains 100mg of Trelagliptin, providing an effective dosage for managing type 2 diabetes.
