elmisartan and Amlodipine work synergistically in the Telmisartan 40mg, Amlodipine 5mg Tablet to control blood pressure. Telmisartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, by preventing its binding to the AT1 receptor, which leads to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. On the other hand, Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, inhibits the movement of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells, resulting in relaxation of the arterial smooth muscle and dilation of peripheral arteries, thereby lowering blood pressure. Together, these mechanisms effectively reduce peripheral resistance and improve blood flow, contributing to the management of hypertension.
